The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill the Development and Business Licensing Coordinator role which acts as the central liaison for the coordination of approvals for permits and licenses between the Planning and Development Department and other departments.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate, consult and collaborate stakeholders for all permits completed within the department.
- Act as the Citys delegate in relation to Business Licensing process and approve Business Licenses.
- Issue purchase orders and process invoices.
- Review and update department information on the City website
- Provide assistance with the formatting and development of department marketing and promotional materials.
- Prepare reports, contract documents, terms of reference, requests for proposal, policies and procedures, City Council reports and correspondence.
- Point of contact for all applications for development and building permits, sign permits and business licenses.
- Maintaining all building permits, property and subdivision files.
- Liaison between Building Officials, Planners and the public for business license/construction/development related inquiries.
- Creating and maintaining daily, monthly and annual reports and databases.
- Business Administration Certificate/Diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years experience in a Business Administration preference given for Building Permit and Business Licensing experience.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with City Works database system.
- Knowledge of principles, standards and practices related to urban municipal planning, business licensing, land development and the building permit process.
- Understanding of the City Building Bylaw, Zoning Bylaw, Licensing Bylaw, Provincial Legislation and the National Building Code.
- Experience with Information Service Corporation (ISC) processes and website utilization.
