Overview
Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit in the healthcare sector, is seeking a Program Consultant. This full-time role offers a flexible work model and a negotiable salary, depending on experience. As the Program Consultant, you will lead the enhancement of hospital data methodologies that shape national health system reporting and inform key decision-making. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in hospital, clinical, and emergency data, particularly with acute and ambulatory classifications, and has the ability to translate complex data into meaningful, actionable insights.
In addition to technical expertise, this role requires demonstrated leadership skills. You’ll manage program deliverables, provide direction to a small team of analysts and a coding specialist, and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to drive results.

Responsibilities- Lead the annual maintenance and improvement of CMG+ and CACS methodologies.
- Implement clinical and cost-effectiveness enhancements to case mix logic.
- Guide and manage a cross-functional team, overseeing performance, priorities, and outputs.
- Offer expert advice to internal teams, external partners, and government stakeholders.
- Ensure all methodology changes align with product and healthcare system requirements.
- Contribute to technical documentation, stakeholder presentations, and CIHI compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information, Statistics, Epidemiology, or related field; or a graduate of a recognized HIM program with CHIM certification.
- 5+ years of experience working with hospital-based data and case mix grouping tools.
- Experience in emergency-focused healthcare data, especially related to wait times, acute care, and ambulatory classifications.
- Strong knowledge of health information standards (e.g., ICD-10-CA, ICD-11, CCI).
- Familiarity with databases: DAD, NACRS, CMG+, and CACS.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, preferably with experience overseeing analysts and healthcare data staff.
- Understanding of the Canadian healthcare system and hospital data flow.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
