Join CHCH as a Broadcast Technician and play an essential role in delivering quality local news. This part-time position offers opportunities to work with cutting-edge broadcast technology in Hamilton, Ontario.
As a Broadcast Technician, your main focus will be to maintain and troubleshoot live broadcasts alongside various equipment including cameras and audio consoles. With a background of 2-3 years in a live production environment, you will support IT integration and assist with the technical setup for remote reporting. Your flexibility to work varied hours is key for supporting our news team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure technical support for live news programs
• Conduct equipment maintenance and repairs
• Support networked broadcast and storage systems
• Set up ENG solutions for field operations
• Troubleshoot technical emergencies swiftly
Requirements:
• Degree or Diploma in relevant technical field
• 2-3 years of experience in live broadcasting
• Strong technical knowledge of broadcast systems
• Familiar with emerging IP broadcast technologies
• Must hold a valid Ontario Driver’s License
