Avena Foods is currently seeking a Shipper/Receiver to join our team at our Regina facility.

As a Shipper/Receiver, you will be responsible for the timely shipments of finished goods and for keeping accurate records of inventory. The Shipper/Receiver will have great skill in operating a forklift and possess good organizational skills. This position requires a courteous helpful attitude, the ability to multi‑task and operate well in a fast‑paced changing environment.

This position may require travel between Avena locations.

Key Responsibilities

Professionally represents the company as a shipping/receiving point of contact for transport/shipping companies

Picks and prepares customer orders for shipment

Loads products into transport trailer and processes necessary shipping requirements adhering to Avena’s Foods Safety policy

Receives and processes requisitions from multiple departments (ex. QA – Retest, Production – Milling & Packaging, etc.)

Processes warehouse transactions using computerized ERP & warehouse management system

Handles all other duties and problems associated with the warehouse (ex. Cleaning, etc.)

Qualifications and Skills

High School Diploma is preferred

2 years of experience is preferred

Knowledge of inventory and warehouse management, food processing, packaging and food safety would be an asset.

Minimum 2 years of lift truck experience/Certification.

Computer literacy

Excellent organizational skills

Aptitude with numbers

Attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to lift 22kg (50lbs)

Valid Driver’s License and access to personal vehicles are mandatory as position may be required to work at secondary warehouse.
