Addiction Services Community Case Management Nurse
Position #: 9006833. Full‑time temporary role. Expected start date:
June 22, 2026. Expected end date:
March 31, 2027. 14 shifts of 8 hours over 3 weeks, days shift. Salary band:
Pay Band Nurse B $42.040 to $52.440.
- Provide high‑standard care to clients diagnosed with chemical dependency and mental health concerns.
- Offer informational programming, individual and group therapy sessions.
- Assess physical and mental health problems and liaise with detox physicians.
- Provide backup nursing services for the Harm Reduction Methadone Program and Drug Treatment Court.
- Assist with acute care referrals, monitor patients, and perform occasional Phlebotomy services at detox.
- Administer medications and conduct drug screening tests as required.
- Deliver medication education and support medical consultants in Brief/Social Detox, Methadone Clinic, and Drug Treatment Court.
- Carry out other nursing duties as required.
- Graduate of a general nursing program, supplemented by postgraduate training in psychiatric nursing.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with clients with substance use disorder or related health issues.
- Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS) and College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) membership.
- Current PART and CPR certification.
- Strong program development skills and ability to build partnerships with addiction providers.
- Knowledge of community resources in the addictions field and best practices in addiction and harm reduction strategies.
- Proficiency in addiction screening, assessment tools, and procedures.
- Ability to conduct workshops and lectures for clients, team members, and other agencies.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Collaborative work with a multidisciplinary team.
- Competency in psychiatric mental health assessment.
- Understanding of mental and physical needs of clients using assessment tools.
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions.
- Knowledge of mood‑altering medications and their impact on clients.
- Ability to accurately assess addictions and develop appropriate recovery plans.
- Self‑directed and able to prioritize workload.
- Understanding of holistic addiction treatment models.
