Provide palliative nursing care at Scarborough Health Network’s General Site, applying pain and symptom management in a multidisciplinary environment. This temporary part-time position includes days and nights.
As a Registered Nurse, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care on a busy 24-bed acute Medicine/Oncology unit. Eighteen beds serve patients choosing a palliative approach. The team provides specialist symptom management, empathetic end-of-life care, and acute nursing care.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
- Provide specialist pain and symptom management
- Deliver dignified patient and family-centred palliative care
- Provide high-quality acute nursing care
- Advocate for patients and caregivers alongside nurses
- Current College of Nurses of Ontario Registered Nurse certification
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- Two years acute medical nursing experience or related placement
- Recent palliative care experience or related clinical placement
- Demonstrated expertise managing pain and symptoms
Use palliative nursing, oncology care, and symptom management expertise while supporting patients and caregivers at SHN.
