TheOpportunity
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Landscape Services, the Irrigation Technician plays a key role in maintaining the picturesque grounds of the R+T Park in Saskatoon during the busy spring to summer seasons. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining the underground irrigation system and working closely with the Landscape team to ensure the upkeep of the R+T Park.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on irrigation experience, is a proactive problem-solver and demonstrates a commitment to keeping our R+T Park in Saskatoon pristine and enjoyable for all who visit.

Primary ResponsibilitiesDuties include but are not limited to:
- Operating and maintaining the underground irrigation system through the spring and summer seasons.
- Completing the spring start-up of the underground irrigation system.
- Programing the system through a central control system in response to changing weather patterns and plant requirements.
- Working with the Landscape Team to ensure the day-to-day maintenance of the R+T Park is completed to the highest standards.
- Ensuring safe work procedures are followed for all tasks.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- 2-3 years of experience in operation and maintenance of underground irrigation systems (required).
- Certificate in Turf Management and/or Horticulture (preferred).
- Experience working with central control systems is an asset.
- Availability to work from early May to late August, Monday to Friday, 6 a.m.
-2 p.m. - A valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check (required).
- Ability to work well alone, with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with the R+T Park community.
