Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technician - Regina, SK

AGT Foods Canada, one of the world’s largest suppliers of value-added pulses, staple foods, and food ingredients, has expanded over the last few years by opening an Extrusion facility. The facility develops and produces semi finished food products to be used in pastas, plant-based burgers and other finished food products.

We are seeking a  Food Safety and Quality Assurance Technician  to support day‑to‑day food safety and quality activities for a  one‑year term .

Responsibilities

Conduct regular inspections of food production facilities to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards

Perform and document quality assurance activities, including testing, checks, and inspection results

Perform wide range analyses on extruded products

Perform EMP testing

Work according to GLP practices

Manage the sample flow through the lab

Maintain the laboratory as well as the testing functions in the operations area

Understand the technical specifications of the incoming materials and products produced

Be able to complete final product inspections and incoming packaging materials inspection

Learn aseptic technique and apply principle daily

Maintain lab documentation and submit paperwork promptly

Complete and verify retain sample collection request with all documentation

Uphold quality conscious and food safe culture

Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education & Training (or Combination of)

Food Science, Microbiology, Food Technology or another related field

Food safety and or Quality experience or knowledge in a manufacturing environment

Understanding of food safety systems, including ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, SOP, BRC and IFS, etc.
