This recruitment effort aims to attract dedicated individuals for the Volunteer Firefighter positions in Kingston. Expected to respond to emergencies, maintain equipment, and engage in public education, you will contribute to community resilience. This role involves significant training over a 24-week program, equipping you to handle various emergency situations effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Respond promptly to fire and medical emergencies
• Maintain and inspect fire stations and equipment
• Promote safety and fire prevention initiatives
• Participate in regular training and workshops
• Perform additional duties as necessary
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 diploma or verified equivalent
• Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license required
• Relevant training in firefighting or emergency response preferred
• Strong community service orientation
• Must be physically fit and available for flexible scheduling
