The full-time Youth Support Worker will engage with residents, monitoring their daily activities and facilitating group and recreational programming. You'll develop therapeutic relationships that enable youth to cultivate independence, helping them navigate daily challenges and learn essential life skills.
Your role is key in fostering a safe environment that emphasizes personal growth and community connection.
Key Responsibilities:
• Actively supervise youth in both the facility and community
• Facilitate recreational and life-skill activities
• Document incidents and resident progress accurately
• Prepare healthy meals while teaching cooking skills
• Collaborate with team meetings and contribute to program decisions
Requirements:
• Post-secondary diploma in Social Service Work or Childcare
• Over 1 year experience in a residential setting
• CPR and First Aid certification, crisis intervention training welcomed
• Police check and driver’s license required
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
