Social Worker – BSW: $35,137 to $42,966 (5 step range)
Job Description
The Social Worker – BSW practices in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to support clients of the target group(s), significant others, and those Social Worker – BSW will have a thorough working knowledge of the Saskatchewan HIV Strategy and the Provincial Leadership Case Management Standards. The Social Worker – BSW will incorporate the Four Strategic Pillars of the Saskatchewan HIV Strategy into daily practice.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in social work
Licenses: Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Membership: Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Public Health Act & Communicable Disease Control Regulations
Knowledge of social determinants of health affecting vulnerable populations
Ability to work as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team
Demonstrates leadership and organizational skills
Ability to work independently to plan and prioritize workload demands
Knowledge in the harm reduction model
Knowledge of client experience and client support required along the continuum of care
Competencies:
Leadership skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities
Knowledge of population health approach to health promotion/prevention
