Duties and responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the delivery of client intakes, employment services, skills training, and employment opportunities.
  • Perform client needs assessments to identify individual barriers and develop personalized action plans.
  • Coordinate and deliver pre-employment workshops on career planning, job search strategies, resume writing, interview preparation, and related employment skills.
  • Facilitate employment skills training sessions covering personal management, interpersonal relations, communication, time management, and computer use.
  • Based on the job seekers strengths, skills, and ability to participate, provide guidance and support to engage in a successful job search.
  • Maintain records of client progress and outcomes, including preparation and submission of required reporting.
  • Develop and maintain employer relationships that create quality work experience placements and employment opportunities for clients.
  • Promote awareness of supported employment concepts and their benefits for businesses.
  • Work with employers to develop job carves that are based on both business needs and job seekers abilities.
  • Follow up on employer leads and coordinate job-search activities, including cold calls, informational interviews, job shadows, and worksite tours.
  • Conduct outreach with community agencies and participate in community activities, meetings, and networking opportunities to strengthen referral and partnership relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in social work, human services, education, occupational therapy or a related field.
  • Rehabilitation Worker Certificate or two years supported employment experience or related experience.
  • Experience in the supported employment sector and practices, and with employer engagement.
  • Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers Licence.
