Job Description:
Under the direction of the Manager and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker provides a range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population. The incumbent provides supervision to students in formal clinical practicums. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS membersin accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Min. 1 year (post graduate) recognized exp. working within adult community MHAS.

Identify, implement and evaluate client difficulty areas
Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation

Knowledge in various mental health disorders and stability interventions
Knowledge and skill in community outreach and crisis interventions
Knowledge in various intervention strategies for individuals and groups
Knowledge in recovery philosophy
Highly developed written and oral communication skills
Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.
Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies
Able to work independently in a self motivated manner &respond under pressure
Other Information
Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
Can work flexible hours; ability to work shifts based on operational needs.
Requires a valid driver’s license. May require access to a vehicle for work.
