Position Summary
CRBCL is currently seeking one (1) Miyo Mahcihowin (Good Health) Coordinators to work with Family Enhancement and Preservation Team. This is an opportunity to work closely with children, youth and families. The Miyo Mahcihowin Coordinator will oversee and help develop all healing programs for families and individual clients within the Family Enhancement and Preservation Department by identifying risk factors and establishing programming that will promote healing trauma including intergenerational trauma, based on Indigenous and western perspectives.

This role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication and a positive attitude to work within our progressive work culture that embraces the values and traditions of Cowessess First Nation. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new and exciting Canada wide initiative.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Degree in Human Services field

5+ years relevant experience, or a comparable combination of relevant education and experience may be considered

Certified Life Skills Coach is an asset

Experience in planning, organizing, and leading programs or events is crucial.

Experience working with First Nations communities and knowledge of First Nations values, culture, traditions, and governance.

An understanding of budgeting and financial management.

Excellent organizational and time management skills including significant attention to detail.

Proficient in basic computer skills and software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe.

Skills & Abilities

Seasoned leadership skills, including problem-solving and critical thinking.

A passion for preserving and promoting First Nations teachings and traditions.

Sensitivity to the unique needs and perspectives of First Nations communities.

Ability to create safe, inclusive, and engaging environments for clients.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of the child(ren), families, and the organization.

Ability to troubleshoot issues during events or project execution.

Effectively coordinate with volunteers, staff, and artists, while also demonstrating leadership and teamwork skills.

Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Effective time management and organizational skills.

Strong interpersonal skills, adept at team building.

Exceptional skills for maintaining efficiency and delegating tasks as needed.

A positive and adaptable approach to problem solving.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the region, as required.

The incumbent must provide a successful criminal background check with vulnerable sector search as well as be willing and able to commute to the CRBCL Head Office on a regular basis, which is located on Cowessess First Nation, SK.
