Harm Reduction Specialist

Embrace a vital role as a Harm Reduction Support Worker with Newo Yotina Friendship Centre in Regina. Deliver essential harm reduction services and foster community education.

In this capacity, you will provide support at the Safe Consumption Site, overseeing IV drug use and dispensing Naloxone training. Connecting individuals with the right services and responding to emergencies are core components of the job, alongside creating a welcoming environment for clients. Your empathy and knowledge will be instrumental in their journey toward safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish trust with clients accessing services

• Refer individuals to appropriate medical and social resources

• Assist in intakes and assessments alongside paramedics

• Manage responses to medical situations

• Maintain safety and hygiene standards at the centre

Requirements:

• First Aid with CPR and AED training required

• Certificates in mental health or addictions are beneficial

• Commitment to Harm Reduction methodologies

• Experience with complex social needs is preferred

• Strong communication and judgment skills
