The Sales & Service Overnight (SSO) is part of the Club Operations team that serves members and guests during overnight shifts. The role centers on maintaining a clean, friendly, and well‑maintained gym and fostering member satisfaction through consultative conversations and problem resolution.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Member Engagement- Greet members, check‑in, and promptly address their needs.
- Maintain relationships, act as a resource for questions or concerns.
- Resolve member concerns and, when necessary, Escalate through proper management channels.
- Be present on the club floor and locker rooms, keeping a clean and safe environment.
- Conduct team cleans and identify equipment or amenities needing service.
- Help guests feel comfortable in the club.
- Offer tours, discuss amenities, and answer membership questions.
- Inspire guests to pursue personal fitness goals.
- Present 24 Hour Fitness in a compelling way that connects with guests.
- Remove barriers and misconceptions about free and fee‑based fitness services (Personal Training, Group Exercise, 24GO Digital).
- Ensure new members are set up for success by meeting with a Personal Trainer.
- Maintain a knowledgeable base of current retail products.
- Ensure proper retail merchandising and planogram standards.
- Encourage members to refer guests to try the club.
- Offer in‑club promotions such as Personal Training and Add‑On Memberships.
This position reports directly to the Sales & Service Manager.
Variable CompensationTeam members are eligible to participate in 24 Hour Fitness’s Fitness Sales and Membership Sales Commission Plans, rewarding exceptional service and success.
Required Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- All 24 Hour Fitness Membership sales and administrative processes.
- Computer skills for using 24 Hour Fitness systems and common applications.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification from an approved organization (provided by 24 Hour Fitness).
- Completion of SSO training (includes Club Orientation and Club Safety) before working alone at the front desk.
- 6‑12 months of customer service experience.
- Prior overnight shift experience preferred.
- Experience operating multiple phone lines preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Regularly required to stand up to 8 hours; talk and hear during duties.
- Occasional sitting, walking, kneeling, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Frequent lifting or moving of up to 45 lbs.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Noise levels occasionally loud.
- Some travel may be required for meetings and training sessions.

Compensation Summary- All employees:
