SAS is committed to supporting athletes, coaches, and clubs across the province by delivering high‑quality programming, resources, and competition experiences. We work collaboratively with partners throughout the provincial and national sport system to advance artistic swimming at all levels—from grassroots to high performance.

Overview
SAS seeks a dynamic and organized Competition and Athlete Development Director to lead the design, coordination, and delivery of athlete development programming and to ensure that all SAS-sanctioned competitions are technically sound, well‑supported, and aligned with provincial and national standards. This role plays a key part in shaping athlete pathways, enhancing coach support, and ensuring consistent, quality technical delivery across the province.

Key Responsibilities
Athlete Development (Grassroots to Performance)

Plan and deliver annual athlete development camps, mobile camps, and support high‑performance camps as required.

Establish camp budgets and participant fees in collaboration with the Executive Director.

Select clinicians and manage logistics to ensure high‑quality programming aligned with athlete pathways.

Support technical skill development and routine creation for the Summer Performance Team.

Competition Support & Technical Delivery

Oversee technical preparation for all SAS-sanctioned competitions, including logistics, music file management, and review of registration entries.

Attend all provincial competitions to observe, support, and provide feedback to grassroots coaches.

Compile judges’ figure comments into coach‑friendly development resources.

Collaborate with the Sport Development Director on talent identification during competitions.

Liaise with the Saskatchewan Games Council to support multi‑sport event participation (e.g., Saskatchewan Winter Games).

Committee Leadership & Stakeholder Relations

Serve as staff liaison for the Competitions Committee and the Grassroots Committee.

Work closely with clubs, coaches, Canada Artistic Swimming, Provincial Sport Organizations, Sask Sport, and the Saskatchewan Games Council.

Administration & Reporting

Attend SAS Annual General Meeting and Annual Planning Session.

Prepare board reports (project updates, annual reporting, participant data, etc.).

Contribute to Sask Sport follow‑up requirements (athletes, competitions, outcomes).

Create and maintain procedural and program documents.

Qualifications

NCCP Competition Development Certification, or Competition Development Trained with a commitment to completing certification.

Proven artistic swimming coaching experience.

Strong technical knowledge of CAS and World Aquatics rules.

Strong understanding of Canada Artistic Swimming and World Aquatics (AQUA) rules.

Excellent communication skills across diverse stakeholders.

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office; openness to learning new technologies.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Availability for evenings, weekends, and provincial travel.

Work Location
This position is based in Saskatchewan with the main office located in Regina. Travel throughout the province is required.
