As a Paratransit Operator, you will provide essential transportation services for individuals with disabilities and mobility challenges, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity.
Responsibilities
Safe Vehicle Operation:
Operate a Paratransit bus in full compliance with traffic laws, transit regulations, and Transdev safety standards. Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely service.
Passenger Assistance:
Provide courteous support to riders with mobility needs. Safely assist with boarding, exiting, and securing wheelchairs or mobility devices while maintaining a respectful and empathetic environment.
Pre-Trip Inspections:
Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections. Check safety features like brakes, ramps/lifts, and tie‑downs. Report any issues promptly.
Logs and Communication:
Accurately log trips, incidents, and passenger interactions. Submit required reports on time and maintain clear communication with dispatch and supervisors.
Vehicle Cleanliness:
Ensure the bus is clean and sanitary throughout your shift, following all cleaning and disinfection protocols.
Other Duties:
Follow all company policies and perform other duties as needed to support smooth, safe service.

Qualifications
You possess a Valid Class 4 SK Unrestricted Driver’s Licence (or higher) with a clean Driver’s Abstract.
You have a safe driving record with no recent violations or preventable accidents.
You possess the ability to manage challenging situations with patience and professionalism.
You have strong customer service skills and empathy for passengers with disabilities.
You can operate accessible transportation equipment and secure mobility devices.
Prior experience in passenger transportation, especially with individuals with disabilities, is an asset.
Familiarity with Regina's geography and road network is an asset.
You must successfully complete all pre‑employment requirements:
Medical assessment, Drug and alcohol test, Criminal Record & Vulnerable Sector Check, and Trainability evaluation. This role requires the physical ability to lift, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs on a routine basis.
Location & Schedule
This is a Casual, On‑Call, Unionized role in Regina, SK:
Work is assigned as needed.
Availability:
Must be available eight (8) days per month.
Variable
Shifts:
Expect early morning, evening, weekend, and split shifts as required. Flexibility is essential, as service operates 7 days a week.
