Description

The FAcT Dispatcher / Scheduler is responsible for the day‑to‑day execution and coordination of flight dispatch and scheduling activities in support of the FAcT flying training program. Reporting to the FAcT Air Operations Manager, this role ensures flight operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable operational airworthiness requirements, orders, and procedures.

In the short term, the role prioritizes flight dispatch and day‑of operations execution, with secondary responsibility for short‑term and near‑term scheduling. The Dispatcher / Scheduler maintains continuous coordination with Flight Authorization Officers, DND Schedulers, 2 CFFTS Operations, the AMO, and internal CAE stakeholders to support uninterrupted and effective flying operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Execute daily flight dispatch activities in accordance with approved SOPs and operational airworthiness requirements.

  • Prepare, update, and manage daily and short‑term flying schedules aligned with training priorities, aircraft availability, aircrew qualifications, weather conditions, and maintenance constraints.

  • Monitor aircraft status, weather, and aircrew availability to maintain situational awareness and support safe flight execution.

  • Act as the first point of contact for aircraft diversions, delays, and cancellations, escalating to the Air Operations Manager as required.

  • Adjust schedules dynamically in response to maintenance, weather, or operational constraints to maintain training continuity.

  • Coordinate closely with DND Schedulers, Flight Authorization Officers, 2 CFFTS Operations, the AMO, and internal CAE stakeholders.

  • Adhere to Dispatch & Scheduling SOPs, Flight Safety Program requirements, Quality requirements, and applicable orders.

  • Maintain current operational references, including maps, charts, and publications.

  • Maintain accurate operational records, including aircrew availability, qualifications, and currency, as directed.

  • Update Aircrew Information Files and operational tracking tools.

  • Support flight safety reporting, pilot production tracking, and operational data validation.

  • The expected outcomes of this role include reliable daily flying operations, high schedule fidelity, rapid response to operational disruptions, and disciplined execution of dispatch and scheduling processes that directly support flight safety, operational readiness, and training throughput.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in aviation operations, flight dispatch, or military flight operations.

  • Experience working in a regulated aviation environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a time‑sensitive operational setting.

  • Demonstrated sense of initiative and sound operational judgment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
