Railway Trainmaster Yard Operations

Lead safe railway operations for CPKC by coordinating train movements, yard fluidity, and daily operating plans across road territory and terminals.
As Trainmaster, you will oversee personnel, communicate across departments, and deliver safe, cost-effective execution of Local Service Operating Plans and Operating Plans. You will coach Train and Engine employees while supporting safety, service, productivity, and financial metrics. The position requires railway experience, strong troubleshooting, and clear radio communication.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate daily yard-terminal and road operating plans
- Oversee train movements across yards and mainlines
- Lead terminal safety compliance and corrective actions
- Investigate incidents and recommend corrective action plans
- Coach and mentor Train and Engine employees
- High school diploma or general equivalency
- Previous railway conductor experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and all weather
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
