Job Description:

Nursing Technician

The Nursing Technician supports the Registered Nurse by observing and documenting patient conditions. Working under close supervision, this role assists with patient support through progressive mobility and daily tasks as needed.

Supports patients with daily living tasks, including meals, personal care, and mobility to aid recovery and care plans.

Assesses patients' quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination to allocate resources and anticipate needs.

Admits, transfers, and discharges patients, ensuring proper placement according to care plans.

Assists with clinical procedures such as monitoring blood glucose, recording vital signs, obtaining EKGs, applying restraints, and attending to elimination needs.

Maintains unit inventories of supplies and medical equipment to ensure a safe, clean environment compliant with safety standards.

Ensures fall-risk patients have appropriate identification and safety signage.

Documents clinical procedures, patient interactions, and medication use to maintain detailed records.

Responds promptly to delegation from registered nurses and shares patient observations for effective collaboration.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
Experience: None required
Licensure/Certification: Certification as required by North Carolina DHHR, Nurse Aide Certification, BLS (CPR) from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
