Job Description

Reports to: Pre-Make Lead

Summary: To ensure the quality, integrity and serviceability of print cylinders.

Responsibilities
  • Follow company policies and procedures to ensure all cylinders received are recorded and visually inspected for damage during shipping. Record cylinder location and store cylinders in racks in the Pre-Make Ready Area.
  • Remove correct cylinders listed on setup sheets, identify and log rack numbers according to company policies and procedures.
  • Move cylinders to the work bench for inspection of serviceability, following procedures to move the correct cylinder to the staging area prior to installation on press.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork to ensure correct job number, cylinder number, unit number and color for the press job.
  • At job finish, remove cylinders per policy, ensure bearings are removed, and clean and safely return cylinders to the correct rack location.
  • Maintain and clean sumps as required, assemble/disassemble sumps per procedures, and follow documentation per MSDS sheets.
  • Disassemble and clean cylinders without damage, ensuring thorough cleaning and safe storage.
  • Operate PRI Washer according to manufacturer’s specifications and procedures, following all policies at all times.
  • Follow OHSE policies for personal protection and hazardous materials/waste handling per guidelines and 40 CFR. May be responsible for hazardous waste documentation, training, handling, transport, and emergency coordination as needed.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow PPE procedures in designated areas.
  • Follow procedures for handling and disposal of all hazardous materials/waste.
  • Maintain and wear proper uniform per company policy.
  • Use safety lifting equipment provided by the company (hoist, jacks, vacuum manipulators, etc.).
  • Regularly inspect work areas to maintain safety and cleanliness, including grounding and containment of ink and solvent containers.
  • Follow Clean Vision requirements to maintain clean and safe Pre-Make areas at all times.
  • Comply with cGMP, HACCP Food Safety Requirements and Chain of Custody Program Requirements.
  • Actively participate in Pre-Make Team meetings and support other Production groups as needed.
  • Understand OHSE obligations and implement guiding principles in daily activities.
  • Perform any other duties as required or requested.
Education
  • High School or GED required.
Requirements
  • One (1) year of previous experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Annual Hazardous Waste (external training) if applicable.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing, kneeling, crouching, manual dexterity, and daily visual tasks.
  • Must be able to rotate shifts and work overtime as needed.
