American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN with 2+ years of experience and required MS Tele/Tele background for a hospital-based assignment.

• Work on a Med/Surg Tele (MS/Tele) unit
• Care for acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients
• Patient population includes acute/chronic respiratory illness, post-op general surgery and GYN surgery, post-op total knee and hip replacements, orthopedics, acute and chronic pain, active GI bleeding, CHF/pulmonary edema, diabetes, renal failure, and drug overdose
• Also manages patients with CIWA scores below 7, suicidal ideation, arrhythmias, radioactive therapy, uncontrolled or new-onset seizures, and stable COVID cases
• Administers IV medication drips including Heparin and TNA
• Typical patient ratio of 1:5/6
• Shift is nights, 7p-7a, 3x12 hours on an EOW rotation
• Floating required between all Cone Health facilities
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• MS Tele and Tele experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, starting and maintaining IVs, and PICC line management required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry (on-unit) required
• Preferred skills include port access/management, blood product administration, chest tube management, dysrhythmia management, remote telemetry monitoring, rapid response/code team participation, and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG compliance exam with up to two attempts allowed
• Current driver's license required to verify address

• Must work one holiday from each winter holiday pair:
  Thanksgiving or Black Friday, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve or New Year's Day
• Subject to floating across any Cone Health campus as needed
• RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, with no local rate option
