American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring NC or compact licensure, Epic experience, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

• MS/Tele unit caring for acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients
• Patient population includes acute/chronic respiratory illness, post-op general surgery, GYN surgery, total knee and hip replacements, orthopedic conditions, GI bleeding, CHF/pulmonary edema, diabetes, renal failure, and drug overdose
• Also manages patients with CIWA scores below 7, suicidal ideation, arrhythmias, radioactive therapy, new-onset seizures, and stable COVID cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5/6
• IV medication drips administered include Heparin and TNA
• Shift schedule is nights, 7p-7a, 3x12 hours, with every-other-weekend rotation
• Floating required to any Cone Health campus as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• MS/Tele and telemetry experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry monitoring experience required
• Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur Evac), nasal cannula, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Pre/post hemodialysis management experience preferred
• Accessing/managing ports and blood product administration experience preferred
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed)

• Provide direct nursing care to acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients, including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team coordination
• Holiday coverage required for one of each winter holiday pair (Thanksgiving or Black Friday, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, New Year's Eve or New Year's Day)
