Your Role

The Royal Alexandra and Albert School exists to give our children a distinctly different start in life, preparing them for the world with hope, optimism, compassion and empathy.

We are a co-educational, non-selective state boarding school, for boys and girls aged 7 - 18. This is a boarding school with Flexi Boarding students attending from the local area and a lively community of around 300 Full Boarders, passionately involved in a wide range of after‑school and weekend activities and trips.

Our Ofsted inspection of March 2024 states "pupils are happy and well cared for at Royal Alexandra and Albert School. They benefit from positive relationships with staff across the school. Pupils feel safe, confident that if they report any concerns or worries they will be dealt with".

We offer:

  • Professional, supportive and committed staff team
  • Beautiful estate set in 260 acres of parkland
  • Convenient location, close to the A23 and M25
  • Free on-site parking
The Role

This is a varied and developing role that offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a health and safety or compliance background to broaden their experience. Working closely with the Head of Health & Safety and the wider Estates Team, you will oversee compliance records, undertake physical site inspections, coordinate day‑to‑day estates administration, and ensure all statutory and operational requirements are impeccably documented.

The successful candidate will:

  • Bring core administrative experience, ideally gained within health and safety, compliance, estates administration, facilities management, or a similar operational role.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational ability and attention to detail, successfully managing multiple priorities and meeting statutory deadlines.
  • Be proficient in data and systems management, with experience handling records, databases, or compliance systems.
  • Possess strong IT skills in Microsoft Office and Google, alongside the ability to research and implement new digital workflows or systems.
  • Communicate effectively, showing excellent written and verbal skills to build strong working relationships with staff, contractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Possess a methodical, detail‑oriented approach, keeping records up to date and monitoring completion timescales rigidly.
  • Approach challenges with a positive, adaptable mindset, working brilliantly both independently and as part of a busy team.
  • Be enthusiastic and eager to learn, with a genuine commitment to continuous improvement, professional development, and developing their knowledge of safety legislation.
  • Be a proactive self‑starter, capable of working independently, taking initiative, and driving tasks through to completion.
  • We reserve the right to interview and appoint prior to the closing date of the advertisement

    Safeguarding Information

The Royal Alexandra and Albert School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post if successful, including an Enhanced DBS check. Staff must be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety regulations, security and confidentiality, reporting all concerns as appropriate.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.

At The Royal Alexandra and Albert School we strive to be inclusive and value the positive impact of diversity and equality within our school. We welcome applications from all backgrounds, and particularly encourage those from ethnic minority groups who reflect the diversity, and varied cultural and ethnic backgrounds, of our student community / boarding community.
