The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Art and Design Technician to join the Art, Design and Photography Department. The post holder will be required to support the Department with the resources, equipment and software needed by the Department. Experience of working with textiles is essential including the ability to repair and readjust domestic sewing machines, and assist with skilled processes such as dying, printing, machine embroidering, garment construction and hand techniques.
The post is available immediately on a permanent, part-time basis. The post is term-time only (39 weeks per year). The hours of work are 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, (with 45 minutes unpaid lunch break) (85.62% of full-time).
The post holder will work extensively with students and therefore, must be confident in forming positive professional relationships with teenagers.
The post will require some occasional evening work throughout the year to support Open Evenings, exhibitions and assessments.
The DepartmentThe Department is housed in the Visual Arts Centre. The post holder will work closely with the well-established Department.
The Department offers four courses:
- Graphics A Level
The starting salary for this post is £22,792.04 per annum (FTE £26,620 per annum), progressing up to £23,429.06 (FTE £27,364 per annum).
