Position: SEN TA (Teaching Assistant)

This incredible specialist school provides alternative education for primary and secondary-aged pupils who have been permanently excluded, are at risk of exclusion, or are out of school for medical reasons. This incredible setting offers 92 full-time places for young people who need a fresh start and a personalised approach to learning. This specialist school supports learners between the ages of 5-19 years (Primary and secondary).

The school's mission is to create a positive and nurturing environment, where every student is valued and supported to reach their full potential. This school goes above and beyond to focus on both the social-emotional and educational needs of our pupils, ensuring they have the skills and confidence to move forward in their education and beyond.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Supporting pupils one-on-one or in small groups, helping them to engage with learning
  • Building positive relationships with students, offering encouragement and guidance
  • Assisting teachers in delivering tailored lessons that inspire and challenge pupils
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and key life skills
  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges
Who We're Looking For:
  • A patient, understanding, and resilient individual with a passion for supporting young people
  • Experience working with challenging behaviour or SEN (desirable, but not essential)
  • A team player who can work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies
  • GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent
