* Print We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team 4 days per week, working hours from 8:15 - 15: this rewarding role, you will work closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences, including leading whole-class lessons in the absence of a teacher and supporting small groups and individual pupils. You will play a key part in helping pupils achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
** Key Responsibilities
** Teaching & Learning
* Deliver lessons to whole classes during planned and unplanned teacher absence
* Plan, deliver, and evaluate learning activities for individuals, groups, and classes
* Monitor pupil progress and provide clear feedback to support improvement
* Support pupils’ literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum learning
* Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs, including SEND
* Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional resilience
Pupil Support
* Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
* Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
* Contribute to pupil assessments and record-keeping
* Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and carers where appropriate
Teamwork & Leadership
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and wider school team
* Provide guidance and day-to-day support to other classroom support staff
* Contribute to school events and attend meetings and training sessions
* Uphold confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities at all times
General Duties
* Supervise pupils during break times as required
* Prepare and use learning resources, including ICT tools
* Support the planning and delivery of interventions
* Follow all school policies, including safeguarding and behaviour
** The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experiance:
*** GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
* First Aid training (or willing to undertake training)
* Experience in working with children or in a school setting
* Skilled in planning and delivering learning activities
* Strong literacy, numeracy, and organisational skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Good understanding of safeguarding, SEND, and the curriculum
* Confident using ICT to support teaching and learning
* Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and resourceful
