Specialist Learning Support Worker (Secondary SEN)
Location: Chaldon, Surrey (Reigate/Caterham/Whyteleafe Area)
Following the successful inauguration of our purpose-built Secondary SEN facility in September 2025, we are formally inviting applications for a Specialist Learning Support Workers to join our founding cohort. This is a strategic appointment for an individual dedicated to the long-term academic and holistic development of students with complex neurodivergent profiles.
The Environment: A Multidisciplinary Clinical ModelOur institution caters to Key Stage 3 and 4 students (ages 11-16) presenting with complex requirements in social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing-primarily associated with the Autism spectrum.
Unlike traditional mainstream settings, our model integrates educational delivery with intensive therapeutic intervention. You will operate within a high-ratio staffing structure, collaborating daily with an internal team of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Behavioural Specialists to ensure a synchronised approach to student progress.
Core Responsibilities- Pedagogical Support: Assisting in the delivery of a bespoke, adaptive curriculum; modifying resources in real-time to align with individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Behavioural Analysis: Utilising evidence-based, positive reinforcement strategies to manage complex behaviours, focusing on root-cause identification and emotional co-regulation.
- Professional Reporting: Maintaining rigorous records of student progress, contributing to multidisciplinary reviews, and providing data-driven feedback to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
- Safeguarding Advocacy: Upholding the highest standards of student welfare, ensuring compliance with all statutory Child Protection and Safeguarding protocols.
We are seeking a candidate who balances professional rigor with an adaptable, solution-oriented mindset.
Minimum Requirements:
- Educational Foundation: GCSE Mathematics and English (Grade 4/C or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Specialist Awareness: A sophisticated understanding of the barriers to learning associated with Autism and sensory processing disorders.
- Resilience: The professional maturity to remain objective and composed when navigating high-acuity behavioural challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience within a Specialist Provision or Alternative Provision (AP) setting.
- Familiarity with multicultural inclusion frameworks and trauma-informed practice.
