Position SummaryThe Chemical Processing Technician is responsible for performing chemical processing operations—including anodizing, plating, etching, cleaning, and surface treatments—in accordance with aerospace specifications. This role ensures all parts are processed safely, accurately, and efficiently, while maintaining compliance with internal procedures and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Perform chemical processing operations such as anodizing, passivation, etching, cleaning, and surface finishing on aerospace components.
- Prepare and maintain chemical tanks, including monitoring concentrations, adjusting chemistry, and performing solution testing.
- Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and aerospace specifications.
- Operate processing equipment such as tanks, hoists, ovens, and cleaning systems.
- Document all processing steps in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Perform inspections to verify process quality and part conformity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company EHS policies.
- Monitor and log data such as temperature, dwell time, pH levels, and chemical concentrations.
- Communicate issues such as out-of-spec solutions, defective parts, or equipment malfunctions.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
- Previous experience in chemical processing, metal finishing, plating, or similar manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow detailed technical instructions and aerospace processing specifications.
- Understanding of chemical handling, safety protocols, and PPE requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
