Job Description

The Overnight Kennel Assistant is responsible for providing a clean, efficient and healthy environment for the animals being boarded at the hospital. A day in the life of an Overnight Kennel Assistant:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the resort, including kennel buildings, front office, kitchens, grooming area, and outside grounds.
  • Feed and medicate all lodging guests.
  • Monitor and record important information about the animals’ conditions, behavior and habits (elimination, eating, etc.).
  • Bathroom breaks for guests when requested.
  • Notify Management of unusual medical or behavioral problems.
  • Clean daycare kennels and kitchens nightly along with any other areas needing cleaned.
  • Maintain laundry throughout the night and keep the laundry area neat.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that assist the kennel staff and Management in the smooth flow and operation of the resort, care of guests and service to the clients.
Responsibilities and Benefits
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be available 8PM - 7AM and must be available weekends
  • Must have computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations.
  • Must have the physical and mental capacity to perform in a fast paced and challenging environment.
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Previous experience as a kennel assistant
