Senior Controls Installation Technician – HVAC Building Controls – Base Salary to 100K/year – Reisterstown, MD
- Our client, a well-established HVAC Building Controls Provider, is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Controls Installation Technician for their Reisterstown, MD location focused on Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- This is a small to mid‑sized company that is large enough to offer consistent business opportunities, yet small enough to be family oriented.
- Seeking experience with leading BAS platforms such as Schneider Electric, Delta Controls, or Niagara‑based systems working on healthcare, government, or institutional projects.
- Provide direction and leadership to team members & subcontractors
- Participate & collaborate in project preplanning process
- Lead the execution of assigned projects
- Identify customer issues/concerns, elevate them for resolution
- Coordinate work with other trades
- Run control wire & Install conduit and fittings per industry standard
- Mount and terminate controllers, sensors, and end devices
- Troubleshoot wiring and terminations of field‑installed equipment
- Work day or night shifts depending on the project schedule
- Work in areas exposed to weather. Some projects may be open deck construction
- Mentor Junior level installation technicians
- 3+ years’ experience in the installation of Building Controls and Automation (BAS, DDC Control systems) preferably with leading BAS platforms such as Schneider Electric, Delta Controls, or Niagara‑based systems for healthcare, government, or institutional projects
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, control wiring, and low‑voltage electrical practices with ability to interpret mechanical /control drawings
- Proven track record of team leadership and field coordination
- Knowledge of conduit bending, cable routing, device mounting, and termination
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills using electrical test equipment
- Effective communication and collaboration with team and trades personnel
- OSHA safety awareness and commitment to maintaining safe job sites
- Ability to work nights and occasional weekends; some overtime possible
- Ability to act independently and to coordinate the work of others on a job site
- Effective interpersonal skills to professionally represent the company to customers and other outside contacts
- Ability to explain technical information to non‑technical people
- Valid Maryland driver’s license & clean driving record
- Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, controller connectivity) is a plus!
- Compensation from 40-50/hr. depending on experience and fit to role
