Position: Laboratory Technician (Analytical Sciences)

Laboratory Technician (Analytical Sciences)

At Isospec, we’re building a new standard for molecular identification to unlock patient‑centric drug development and diagnostics. You will be a key driver of the "lab engine" that turns partner samples into robust, decision‑ready insights—fast, reproducibly, and at scale.

Your Impact

Rigorousness:
You are the primary steward of our analytical precision. By mastering our workflows, you ensure that every microliter of a partner's sample is processed with the rigor required for a world‑class analytical lab. Driving Laboratory Excellence:
By managing the day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of our LC‑MS platforms, you ensure the sensitivity and reproducibility required for every analysis. Scaling Innovation:
You will work alongside senior scientists to translate R&D methods into high‑throughput screening workflows, helping us scale from small identification projects to massive clinical cohorts. Shaping a Startup Culture:
In our fast‑paced environment, your technical expertise and proactivity will directly influence our internal SOPs and the efficiency of our "omics" pipelines.

What You Will Do

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be the technical engine of our high‑throughput LC‑MS facility. You will support in developing and executing cutting‑edge "omics" workflows – from complex sample preparation to the operation and maintenance of state‑of‑the‑art mass spectrometry platforms. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented individual who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys transitioning procedures from research and development into solid analytical methods.

  • Wet‑Lab & Sample Prep: Preparation of stock solutions. Execution of complex extraction including liquid‑liquid extraction, solid‑phase extraction and derivatization protocols for metabolomics, lipidomics, glycomics, and proteomics.
  • LC‑MS Operation: Method development and optimization. Manage the daily operation of high‑resolution Mass Spectrometry systems and Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) platforms.
  • Automation Integration: Operate and troubleshoot semi‑automated liquid handling systems for the screening of large‑scale studies.
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform guided preventive instrument maintenance to ensure peak instrument performance.
  • Workflow Execution: Work independently, and support staff to translate research goals into reproducible laboratory workflows, ensuring rigorous data quality and sample integrity.
  • Inventory & Documentation: Maintain detailed electronic lab notebooks (ELN) and manage the logistics of reagent and consumable stocks.
