Are you a nurturing Teaching assistant with a passion for neurodiversity? At Highfield Community Primary, we believe every child deserves a learning environment where they can truly flourish. The Orchard is our specialized SEN unit, designed to provide a bespoke, sensory-rich education for pupils with complex needs.

The local governing board of Highfield Community Primary School are seeking to appoint an exceptional Level 3 Teaching Assistant who doesn’t just "support" but inspires. This isn’t a typical classroom role; this is an opportunity to be a key architect in a child’s developmental journey.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they are motivated, can use their own initiative and have a genuine commitment to giving every child the highest standard of support. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and confident working both independently and as part of our enthusiastic team.

As TA3’s, our teaching assistants will cover the teacher’s weekly PPA and at other times when required. The successful applicant will have a keen interest in working with children with SEND and in supporting and developing their learning.

Responsibilities
  • Support the teacher with weekly PPA cover and other duties as required.
  • Work with children with SEND, including ASD/SLCN, in a sensory-rich environment.
  • Contribute to developing individual learning plans and ensuring high standards of support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support a positive, inclusive classroom culture.

  • Desirable:
Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy.
  • Experience of working with SEND children (Essential).
  • Experience of working in an SEND classroom (Desirable).

  • Regular CPD and specialist training opportunities.
  • Being part of Aspirational Futures Multi Academy Trust.

Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
