Job SummaryThis Operational Accounting Senior Accountant supports general accounting, financial reporting, and month‑end close processes for HDFS and its bank subsidiary, Eaglemark Savings Bank (ESB). The role also participates in company‑wide projects, systems testing, and related work.
Job Responsibilities- Lead the completion of daily and monthly operational accounting responsibilities, including account reconciliations and schedules, detailed analyses, and reports to support month‑end close and quarterly reporting.
- Prepare quarterly regulatory reporting and year‑end financial statements, including footnote disclosures for ESB.
- Perform daily and monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, procedures, and other related tasks.
- Establish and drive implementation of best practices for creating monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Lead ledger and sub‑ledger systems testing, including execution of departmental functional and regression test plans, defect identification, and resolution.
- Provide training and support to accounting staff; maintain reporting requirements with a focus on SAP and related systems.
- Assist with ad‑hoc financial reporting requests, external and internal audits.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP, regulatory guidance, and other technical requirements; conduct research‑related projects and special initiatives.
- Proactively bring identified issues and proposed solutions to management.
- Exercise judgment on accounting treatment of individual items.
- Establish relationships with other departments; serve as point of contact for internal/external auditors.
- Ensure protection of information and compliance with data‑protection policies and regulations.
Bachelor's Degree with Concentration in Accounting is required.
Required Experience- Minimum four years of related experience or two years of public accounting experience.
- High level of professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with limited supervision.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proven ability to take initiative, multi‑task, and achieve results.
- Strong teamwork skills and effective interaction with all levels of staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Experience with general ledger.
- Experience in financial reporting.
- Experience with SAP (accounting software).
- Experience in system testing.

Compensation and BenefitsPay range: $79,600 – $123,600. Benefits include bonus programs, health insurance, a 401(k) program, onsite fitness centers, employee discounts, and more.
