Senior Tax Accountant

Description Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting, direct hire placement of accounting and finance professionals, is recruiting to fill a Tax/Accounting Manager for an established Reno based public accounting firm. This firm has a sophisticated client base and handles tax and business consulting, business planning, projects for clients around cash flow analysis, asset/business acquisition analysis and tax research supporting a number of trust returns and pass through entities.

Most of the work has a fair degree of complexity. The Tax/Accounting Manager will have ownership of client relationships, and take part in training and mentoring staff in the office. Compensation structure is competitive with market and they offer flexibility and a very reasonable work/life balance with busy season hours not typically exceeding 52 hours per week. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in public accounting, ideally with a mix of accounting, tax and audit.

Good interpersonal skills are really important. CPA licensure is expected, so if not already obtained needs to be in process. - At least 5 years of experience in public accounting with substantial exposure to tax-related engagements.

- Strong background in accounting, tax accounting and familiarity with public accounting practices and standards.

- Financial Statement Preparation experience required.

- Experience reviewing financial information and applying it to tax planning, compliance, and project-based work.

- Effective communication skills with the ability to explain accounting and tax matters clearly to clients and team members.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, CPA or CPA in progress also required.
