Overview
The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is seeking a motivated individual to join the Dean’s Office team in the School of Public Health. The Dean’s Office provides support to the faculty, staff, and students and is located in the Edna Brigham Building. This position reports to the administrative staff of the School.
Responsibilities- Create content for social media and draft news articles for the School of Public Health
- Update the School’s website and social media as needed
- Print and post updates on student boards
- Assist with timekeeping tasks
- Conduct in-person errands on campus
- Answer phones and direct calls; assist visitors or route questions to appropriate staff
- Process incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail
- Copy, scan, and send emails
- Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno
- In good academic standing with a 2.75 minimum GPA and enrolled in at least 15 credits each semester
- Graduate applicants must be in good academic standing with a 3.0 minimum GPA
- Applicants must have completed at least one semester at the University of Nevada, Reno
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community members of diverse backgrounds
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of social media across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
Schedule:
15 hours per week for the academic year, which may include Summer and/or Winter breaks. Individual work schedules may vary depending on availability.
Compensation:
Student Employee Level 1; pay based on skills/knowledge. This is a 50.0% FTE position (not exempt).
