Public Safety Dispatch Part‑Time Faculty

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is recruiting Part‑Time Faculty to teach courses in emergency dispatch for the Department of Public Safety. Positions may be in‑person, online, or hybrid and are temporary.

Responsibilities

  • Teach course content under the supervision of the Department Chair.
  • Assess student learning.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge in the teaching field and refer students to college resources.
  • Complete professional development and use current technology.
  • Adhere to standards of ethics and professional conduct.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in public safety, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in dispatching and training.
  • Ability to teach dispatching, emergency call handling, and dispatch procedures courses.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in dispatching and public safety.
  • Desire to work with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Salary

TMCC pays $1,050 per credit for 100‑ and 200‑level courses, and $1,150 per credit for 300‑ and 400‑level courses.
