The Department of Physics at the University of Nevada Reno seeks to hire for a 9-month contract tenure-track Associate Professor position. The candidate is expected to maintain a vigorous externally funded research program that produces high-impact publications and advances the field. The position carries a one-course-per-semester teaching load with responsibilities that include delivering high-quality instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The professor will advise and mentor graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and undergraduate researchers, fostering an inclusive and productive scholarly environment. Service to the department, university, and professional community—such as committee work, peer review, and leadership in professional societies— is also required. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the university’s mission through research excellence, effective teaching, and meaningful service.

Compensation Grade:

Salary Schedules and select Academic Faculty (Nine-month). Salary is competitive and commensurate with related education and experience.
