This role is part of the Power Delivery & Renewable team in the USA and involves leading technical design for transmission lines, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

This is a Lead Technical Designer position within the Power Delivery & Renewable unit. The role requires the incumbent to directly interface with Arcadis power delivery project management, project engineering, and power delivery team. The incumbent will coordinate the power delivery renewable energy team and perform hands‑on transmission (HVAC/HVDC) engineering, detail design and studies for utility and developer clients in North America, while also collaborating with renewable energy teams (wind, solar, green H2, etc.).

• Support, develop, and deliver HV and EHV transmission and distribution line projects from 2 kV up to 500 kV.
• Independently perform engineering and detail design drawings, studies and analysis, plan and profile documents, prepare bidding documents and specifications, bills of materials, shop drawing review, procurement and construction documents under minimal supervision.
• Coordinate closely with civil, substation, high‑voltage electrical, telecommunications, geotechnical engineers to develop complete Issue‑for‑Construction design packages for projects.
• Act as Project Manager (as needed) and Technical Design Lead to support project and client services and plan.
• Serve as a mentor to junior members of the team. Conduct quality assurance/quality control on the work of other electrical/civil engineers, electrical designers, or technicians. Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and vendors to support business development and project execution.

• Associate degree in Engineering Technologist or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience within transmission and distribution line projects from 4 kV up to 500 kV, able to execute and deliver transmission line packages under minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with PLS‑CADD software (PLS‑POLE or PLS‑TOWER is a plus), AutoCAD, Micro‑station.
• Ability to engineer and design HV and EHV transmission design, bills of material, plan and profiles, and construction packages.
• Experience adhering to National Electrical Code, National Electric Safety Code, IEEE codes and standards, and relevant county, city and state codes, ordinances and standards.

• AutoCAD 3D experience.
• Substation experience.
