Electrical Design Engineer

Lead Electrical Engineer

My client are hiring a Lead Electrical Engineer to help them vertically integrate the design and production of military-grade, commercial-off-the-shelf components
, but at consumer volume and cost.

We are looking for someone who can design and lay out PCB boards
. Has a strong understanding of microcontrollers and how to integrate them into hardware systems with the ability to work hands-on with pick-and-place machines
, PCB etching
, and mechanical integration.

They are currently outgrowing a 1,000 sq ft space and scaling into a new facility so this is an exciting time to join this team.

• Design, develop, and prototype hardware and software components for electrical products.
• Collaborate closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure integrated solutions.
• Develop embedded systems using microcontrollers, FPGAs, and custom circuits.
• Perform circuit simulation, PCB layout, and system integration.
• Write and debug application and firmware code for embedded devices.
• Conduct feasibility studies and participate in product architecture decisions.
• Test, validate, and troubleshoot hardware and software designs.
• Research emerging technologies and integrate best practices into product development.
• Document design processes, specifications, and revisions.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in electrical/electronic product design and embedded systems.
• Proficient in circuit design, PCB layout (Altium, Eagle, etc.), and embedded programming (C/C++, Python).
• Experience with microcontrollers (ARM, PIC, AVR, etc.) and communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
