Position Summary
Our Reno team at Light & Wonder develops games for specialty markets. We design and develop custom content for Central Determination, Class II, Historical Horse Racing, and Class III markets. We support multiple platforms and operating systems, designing and developing using the Unity game engine. It is an exciting environment where game designers, engineers, artists, sound designers, and testers work together to produce some of the best content for the market.
The Animator brings our games to life by creating eye‑catching visual effects and animations for our games. They work closely with designers, engineers, technical artists, and game artists to ensure the player‑facing vision for the game is achieved. They work with a group of exceptionally talented artists and animators creating animations that complement and enhance the slot player’s experience.
- Collaborate with game artists and designers to conceptualize and create compelling 2D/3D animations, visual effects, and motion graphics for game logos, symbols, backgrounds, and features.
- Work closely with software engineers and technical artists to prepare animations for integration into the game.
- Understand and resolve technical issues relating to graphics (e.g., rendering, streaming, memory management, playback performance, etc.).
- Communicate with the game designer and development team in an iterative development process.
- Maintain well‑organized working files to facilitate file sharing and collaborative work.
- Archive all final working files for future use using version control software.
- Ability to push creative projects from concept to final execution with minimal supervision.
- Collaborating with the team on the execution of both large and small projects with the same enthusiasm.
- Maintaining existing products and providing assets for marketing purposes.
- Ability to communicate well with different people even under pressure.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days a week in office based at our studio in Reno, NV. We provide relocation assistance for out of state candidates.
Qualifications- 2‑5 years or professional experience in 2D/3D animation and/or motion graphic design.
- Gaming industry experience is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with Unity engine.
- Experience on Spine animation software.
- Animate 2D/3D game assets such as Characters, logos, and Symbols (preferred, not required).
- Able to create 3D assets using Maya and other 3D animation package (preferred, not required).
