Personal Financial Counselor – Reno, NV

Magellan Federal is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor to provide personal financial services at assigned military installations. This role will offer counseling and educational services to military service members and their families.

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and families.
• Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
• Coordinate, publicize, and deliver a variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication as authorized.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision.
• Participate in regular training, quality improvement committees, and other contract activities.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree required; associate degree plus 4 years of experience or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may be considered.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English required; bilingual English/Spanish if required.
• Ability to obtain a favorable Tier 2 investigation.
• Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must hold one of the following certifications:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
