Advanced Imaging I use equipment to visualize internal structures, blood flow and obtain measurements. The Radiology setting follows American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines; the Cardio-Vascular Ultrasound setting follows Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) guidelines. Cardio-Vascular Sonographer practice follows protocols and techniques as prescribed by the Cardio-Vascular Medical Director. Advanced Imaging I practices following the protocols and techniques as prescribed by Imaging Medical Director.
All Advanced Imaging I practice within the scope of their credentials with a valid written physician s order. Skill evaluations are conducted by the area supervisor or preceptor. Advanced Imaging I will perform, under the supervision of a physician, complete exams per protocol using diagnostic criteria and ensure the required information is entered on PACS. The role promotes the smooth and efficient operation of the Imaging Department through appropriate clerical functions, document handling and dispersion, and effective communication.
Meets all requirements set forth by accreditation bodies (ICAEL, ICAVL and ACR) as appropriate, along with governing bodies including JCAHO, federal and state requirements. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- AAS or equivalent program; students have 90 days after graduation to provide documentation.
- Graduation from an accredited program with clinical experience.
- Must be Registered and/or Certified by ARDMS, ARRT, CCI, ARMRIT, CNMT, MQSA credential required.
- License required if required by state.
- CPR certification on hire. BCLS (AHA) certificate within 60 days of hire.
- Previous experience in performing imaging on patients of all ages preferred, especially hospital-based experience.
