Position Purpose

This position performs complex neurodiagnostic procedures of the central and peripheral nervous system for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of neurological diseases. It follows industry standards, federal, state, Joint Commission (TJC), NAEC, and accreditation requirements from ABRET and AANEM. The technician participates in implementing standards of care and ensures effective utilization of services to improve patient outcomes.

Nature and Scope

This role involves performing neurodiagnostic studies across the Renown Health System, including EEGs, LTM, CVEEG, Ambulatory EEGs, Evoked Potentials, and NCS/EMGs. Responsibilities include electrode application, data review, and analysis for physician interpretation. The technician will also train in new procedures, participate in educational activities, evaluate new equipment, and maintain records.

Patient Interaction and Environment

Greet patients and staff professionally, operate sophisticated electrophysiological units, and provide care based on patient age and needs, from newborn to geriatric. Maintain a healing and aesthetic environment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Must have working knowledge of English; certification as R. EEG T (ABRET), R. NCS T (AAET), or

    C. NCS T (ABEM) required.
  • Experience: Minimum two years of recent high-level neurodiagnostic experience; three years preferred.
  • Licenses: Ability to obtain and maintain certification as R. EEG T, R. NCS T, or CNCT.
  • Certification: Current BLS certification from AHA required at hire.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Ability to complete online learning and access electronic forms within 90 days.
