Lead Scrub Technologist
Be part of Sierra Medical Center, a 170‑bed acute care hospital that is part of Northern Nevada Health System. We provide quality care in the greater Truckee Meadows area, with services that include 24/7 ER care, cardiology, oncology, labor and delivery, level II NICU, and comprehensive surgical and orthopedic programs.
Responsibilities- Interact professionally with patients, family members and co‑workers.
- Adapt procedures for patients ranging from infants to the elderly for surgical and endoscopic operations.
- Prepare the surgical room promptly with all anticipated instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment for each procedure.
- Assist in positioning, prepping and draping patients for surgical procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized operative environment, ensuring that all surgical instruments and supplies are available and accounted for.
- Monitor the availability of instruments and supplies (PAR levels) for all surgical instruments and endoscopic tools.
- Assist the manager with supervision and education of staff.
- Participate in departmental staff meetings and performance‑improvement activities.
- Minimum high‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Surgical Technician Certification required within 6 months of hire or verifiable hospital surgical tech experience (prior to 1/1/2018).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in the operating room.
