Paramedic

Overview

Paramedic role at International SOS. We are staffing for full-time Night Shift Paramedics for one of our industrial clients in Reno, Nevada. Schedule is Monday - Sunday 6:00 pm to 6:00 am (3 weeks on/3 weeks off). All candidates must be able to reliably commute to the work site for scheduled shifts.

• Assist medical providers with medical procedures and treatments as allowed within licensed scope of work.
• Assessment and documentation of the patient’s vital signs, chief complaint, medical history, prescribed medications.
• Establish observable and documentable patient goals using care plans within protocols.
• Report all changes in patient’s conditions to the medical provider.
• Proactively and independently administer basic care, including inserting catheters with blood specimen collection, urine collection and EKGs, visual acuity, basic wound care, changing bandages or administering intravenous medications.
• Assist patients with basic care and activities of daily living, as needed.
• Provide support and education to help patients make responsible health decisions.
• Maintain supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipate needed supplies.
• Restock clinical and provider areas once supplies are received.
• Cross-train to work within the clinics, emergency room, and inpatient units.
• Participate in on-call rotation schedule as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Minimum of three (3) years of paramedic experience.
• Experience in a clinic setting (urgent care, emergency room, etc.).
• Occupational / industrial experience.
• CPR Instructor.

• Current and unrestricted license from Nevada.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
• Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
• May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
