Medical Receptionist
Join Nevada Advanced Pain Specialists as a Medical Receptionist—a role focused on greeting patients, managing the front desk, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.
Job DescriptionYou will greet patients and visitors when they arrive at the clinic with a smile, welcome them to the practice, and help them get their visit started. You will also operate the phone system to relay incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls.
Essential Functions- Provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Provide teamwork and support for others throughout the office.
- Understands how much each patient is required to pay at the time of their visit, asks the patient to pay the amount, then collects, stores, and reports the payments in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform timely, complete, and accurate work for the following specific job duties:
- Answer, screen, and route outside calls.
- Supply information to callers and record messages.
- Check in films and CDs from imaging centers and scan in reports.
- Schedule office visits as needed.
- Provide the lab collector with billing and prescription information.
- Fax all patient visit reports to the referring physician, primary care physician, and workers compensation (if applicable).
- Make sure the waiting room is clean and stocked.
- Make sure appropriate information is collected from patient (paperwork, , insurance cards, etc.).
- Enter all patient information appropriately, accurately, and timely into the computer system.
- Accept and sign for packages addressed to the department. Deliver package(s) to addressee or notify addressee of package arrival.
- Keep lobby area clean and coffee/water filled throughout the day.
- Assist check‑out, authorizations, and procedure scheduler as needed.
- Provide reports and information as requested by practice management.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all Federal and State laws and regulations as it relates to this role, including all safety and health standards.
- Ability to take initiative and problem solve.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present oneself as well as the company in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of applicable laws/policies/principles/etc.
- Proficient in the use of a personal computer and corresponding programs.
- Attention to detail.
- Interpersonal skills and customer service skills required.
- Education:
High school diploma. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Business preferred. - Work Experience:
Prefer one year doing working in a similar role for a busy physician practice. - Setting:
Must be able to work in an office setting with office and medical equipment. - Communication:
Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently.
