Overview

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Systems Developer (Contractor) to support the design, development, and integration of healthcare IT systems for Medi-Cal/Medicaid programs in Nevada
. This contract role is ideal for developers experienced in healthcare applications, claims processing, and interoperability standards who can hit the ground running to deliver impactful solutions on tight timelines.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, configure, and support applications, APIs, and integrations between EHR, claims systems, Medicaid portals, and third-party applications.

  • Automate workflows for eligibility verification, billing, and claims adjudication
    .

  • Collaborate with program managers, analysts, and compliance teams to gather requirements and translate into scalable technical solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and Nevada Medicaid data standards
    .

  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues quickly to minimize downtime.

  • Deliver clean, well-documented code and participate in system testing and validation.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • 3–5 years of professional software development or healthcare IT experience
    .

  • Proficiency in C#, Java, Python, or similar languages
    .

  • Hands-on experience with HL7, FHIR, X12, API development, and SQL databases
    .

  • Experience integrating with EHR systems, Medicaid/Medicare claims systems, or healthcare payment platforms
    .

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and systems integration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and deliver under tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Experience in contract or consulting environments preferred.

Contract Details
  • Duration: 6–12 months with possible extension.

  • Pay Rate: Competitive hourly rate (DOE).

  • Location: Nevada-based candidates preferred, but open to remote developers with Medicaid experience.
