Sierra Staffing Group is seeking a IT Help Desk Associate for a well established and reputable Small Family Office Wealth Management company in the Reno, NV Area. Job Summary
The IT Help Desk Technician serves as the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues. This role is responsible for providing timely and effective technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software problems, and ensuring a positive end-user experience. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically proficient, and able to prioritize and resolve issues efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for IT support requests
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, mobile devices, printers, and related equipment
- Provide support for operating systems, Microsoft 365, email, VPN, and common business applications
- Assist with user onboarding and offboarding, including account setup and access management
- Maintain and update IT inventory and asset records
- Educate users on best practices, security awareness, and basic troubleshooting
- Support system updates, patches, and routine maintenance tasks
- Adhere to company IT policies, procedures, and security standards
- Willingness to assist in other departments and wear different hats
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 1–3 years of experience in an IT Help Desk or technical support role
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and basic networking concepts
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and endpoint protection tools
